Evergreen Orchestra
Join the orchestra!
We'd love to have you for orchestra this year! Anyone in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade can join the orchestra, but we encourage 3rd grade the most so you can have the most amount of time to learn. We are a pretty big group, we had more than 40 students sign up in 2019 for beginning orchestra and more than 50 sign up in 2021! All students start their first year in the Beginning Orchestra, then the following year they can join the 2nd/3rd Year Orchestra. There is only one concert for our beginners, and a Winter and Spring concert for our 2nd/3rd Year Players. If you are interested in joining, use the links below or email me at vsmithgonzalez@pvsd.org.
Music
Google Classroom
Google Classroom will be used this year as a resource for extra music and worksheets as well as a communication page. Parents, feel free to subscribe to the weekly summary to see what we've worked on this week!

Lesson Groups
Check out your lesson groups below! You will need your PV email to view it, so make sure you are logged in to Google.
Rehearsals
Once a cycle, all 2nd/3rd year Orchestra members will meet in the band room BEFORE SCHOOL to rehearse music as a group. The rehearsal begins at 8am, so you will need to arrive at 7:45am to allow time for unpacking and tuning. You will be dismissed to your classroom at 8:30.
Concerts
This year, the Evergreen Orchestra will not be doing a combined concert with South, Skippack, and Schwenksville Elementary. Our concerts will all be in our Cafetorium. Save these dates on your calendar!

Orchestra Karate Belts
We use the book titled "Essential Elements for Strings Book 1". This book is great for learning how to read music and also comes with an online component to practice along with. It also has "checkpoints" throughout the book that correspond with a belt color. Work your way up to be an Orchestra Black Belt! Check out where our other students are below!

Flip
Flip (formerly known as Flipgrid) is a website that allows you to easily post videos to me or other orchestra students to see. I'll be doing a monthly Flip topic with fun activities you can do!
Check back in the Fall for our flip code!
