Nelson's Neighborhood

Welcome to the 2023-2024 School year! I am so glad that you are part of our High School Family!  

I am Mr. Timothy Nelson, your Principal. I am originally from Wisconsin, however, I have been on the Navajo Reservation for 28 years and this is my 23rd year in administration and my 5th year in Piñon.  This is my 6th year at Pinon High School and it is an honor and privilege to be able to work with students in reaching their educational goals.  I hold a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Western New Mexico University and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of New Mexico. I enjoy meeting new people, rodeos, traveling, cooking, and taking advantage of everything life has to offer.

I don’t have a magic wand, a crystal ball, or all the answers; however, I do have a heart to care, ears to listen, time to give, ideas to share and an open mind. I may not be able to fix all of your problems, but I can promise that you won’t have to face them alone. I AM HERE FOR YOU!
