Once again, our combination of school website and excellent class websites has served us extremely well. We've been able to lead learning, provide excellent communication and superb content. Hannah West has made an excellent contribution with PENN and the other regular updates have been well done and really helpful. We really do have a wonderful rich online landscape for learning to offer to our learners, whānau and followers.
In 2023 we have:
improved the Manaiakalani Cluster Website
continued with the re-design of the Manaiakalani Website and "family of sites"
audited and improved our own Pt England Class Sites
The content from the Pt England Website and the Manaiakalani site: http://www.manaiakalani.org/ , continue to be used heavily by people all round the world as reference sites for the way in which we lead learning.
Once again thanks go to Kent, Dave Winter, David Clarke and Fiona Grant for the huge effort in transitioning us sucessfully to Edublogs. Special mention needs to made of Simon Collins, Joel Hamilton and David Clarke who worked out how to give us live feeds again. This is a tremendous success and a real blessing.

During 2023 we went through the exercise of going back out to market for our preferred Learner Device. PB Technologies were and in particular, Stan Fosenbauer, were extremely helpful in assisting us to corall the potential candidates, get us testing devices and helping us in the selection of the successful device. For 2024 with continue with Acer Computers as our device and after care partner.
A BIG thank-you goes to Dave Winter, for organising the back-end solutions and for keeping us on track. The move to self insurance has been hugely successful and an absolutely enormous piece of work. The stats from this work are extremely informative and will support our work going forward.
Dave Winter, we offer you an HUGE thank-you, as we simply would not hav emade it without you!
In this year of constrained supply chain our organisation has done extremely well in supporting devices at home or at school, getting insurance judgements and repairs done and ensuring pricing remained appropriate and affordable for our Whānau. Excellent job Dave!
The PB Tech Portal has worked really well and we've been able to supply and support schools in a very timely fashion. This really is the "best deal in town".
Our partnership with EdPotential has continued to grow. We have been able to add all our Surveys and Class Observations to the data set and most recently have added individual student reports. This partnership continues to be very productive and cost effective. I'm extremely grateful to David Clarke, Kiri Kirkpatrick, Georgie Hamilton and Naomi Rosedale for spearheadiing this work.
During this year we have talked and partnered with
MOE and Google to contribute to the settings for cybersecurity for schools
MOE to deliver an equity provision for families who cannot afford digital devices and connections We have been blessed in 2023 to able to offer this provision out to a potential of 18,000 households
Department of Internal Affairs to contribute to the Equitable Digital Access strategy for NZ
Thanks Kent for all your work in the back-ground this year integrating systems and making sure that everything was working.
Leigh has done another amazing job as our school's data manager, managing ENROL, Attendance, Assembly, Hero our various Academic Databases and Spreadsheets Unlimited. Thank-You Leigh!
Thanks again, to our Board comprised of Ana Herbert (Presiding Member), Senio Alai, Fatima Fifita, Poasa Moala, Kaue Pakalani and Kelsey Parrant. Our school has been superbly and thoughtfully supported throughout 2023. I am so grateful to all of you.
Thanks so much Board of Trustees, for all you make possible and for the support that for many of you goes back years now!
I simply could not do the work I do for Manaiakalani and our community of schools and learners if the Pt England Board did not support and approve this work. This Board of Trustees is a very generous hearted and faithful group of people continuing to support the innovation that we have carried out over the years at Pt England School and now offer out to many other schools in many other places
Board Team, God bless you all, -it is a real pleasure working with you all!
