Amazing Alliteration Writing Lesson

Dear Year 2 Students,

Here is a writing lesson on Alliteration delivered by Mrs Robinson, Room 16’s teacher.  Alliteration is when you use the same sound at the beginning of a chain of words. For example - Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

We hope you feel inspired to write lots of awesome, amazing alliteration and please do send them to your teachers.

I’d like to acknowledge the book that I used, Amazing Alphabetical Alliterations by Roger Twiname.

Listen to the story and then write what adventure you would take Rex, the chameleon on. Use your imagination and be as creative as you like.

We look forward to reading all of your stories!

Here is a video from Tania in Room 4 which she has made to hopefully inspire you to write lots of fun and creative stories while you are learning from home.

The important message here is to just give something a go, no matter how hard it may seem at first and never give up!  Writing can be so much fun, you just need to find the magic switch that inspires you to write the most amazing creations.

Sacha's video from lockdown.MOV

Here is a video from Sacha in Room 5 showing you something she has enjoyed doing during this lockdown. Maybe you would like to share a time that you have shown resilience and have never given up on a task during lockdown? Or you just want to share something you have enjoyed doing or creating.

You could write a story about it, take photos, or record a video and share this with your family, friends and/ or teacher.

Being in lockdown has taught us so much about life - it is full of ups and downs.  Usually, we can handle the ups fairly well, but it's the downs that challenge us. What challenges have you faced during the lock- down and how have you dealt with them? When things feel tough we need to find the courage to deal with them.  Persistence and resilience are core values of Point Chevalier School. It is important to learn these values because they teach us to be brave and strong and tackle our challenges!

My challenge for you is to stay fit and healthy during the lockdown.

Here is a video of me (Mrs. Robinson) showing persistence and resilience during the lockdown. Read the key messages on the video and write some of your own. Write about how you and your family are staying fit and healthy. How are you getting tough, strong, and resilient? Try some of the exercises on my video.
