Learning Guide -

for Parents

I often work with my ‘Learning Partner’. We share our ideas, plan our work and reflect on our learning together. We change partners regularly.

During lessons, we decide on the Success Criteria. This helps me to know how I can be successful in my learning and how to make my work even better.

Learning can happen inside or outside the classroom. Sometimes I go on educational trips.

I know that it is Ok if I make a mistake in my work. Challenges are good for my brain.

My teacher may use lolly sticks to randomly select someone to share their ideas

My teacher does not mark every piece of work in my book_ sometimes I self assess or peer assess with my learning partner using the success criteria.  They can help me to decide what I can improve.

I do my work in different ways. Sometimes I work independently, with my learning partner, sometimes with other children and sometimes in groups with the teacher. All of these are good ways to learn.

To be lifelong learners we must be resilient, curious, creative and be problem solvers.

I am encouraged to have a strong sense of who I am.  I know that I belong.

We believe in educating the whole person.

We are all so special and our differences are celebrated.
