Each Standing Committee is led by one chair person who is a member of the PSE PTA Executive Board (voting members). Standing Committee may also be supported by many talented volunteers spearheading and/ or assisting to serve on one or more projects.

Shadowing to get the tricks of the trade.
-Treasurer Shadow (On/Off campus, throughout the year)-shadow our current treasurer to learn all of the systems she currently has in place in hopes of taking over the position next year.
-Membership Assistant (On/Off campus, throughout the year, times flexible) - shadow our current Membership chair to learn what goes into running the membership committee to take over the following year.
-Family Nights (Culture Night, Trunk-or-Treat, Family Movie Night, Loteria Night. Off campus prep. On campus event)
-Parent Education
-Healthy Lifestyles (Walk&Roll-to-School)
-School Garden Chair (On campus, throughout the year, weekly commitment)-maintain the school garden, with the option of leading the school garden club
-Watch DOGS Leadership! Watch D.O.G.S Chair (On/Off Campus, throughout the year, time flexible)-oversee and plan events hosted by WATCH D.O.G.S throughout the year. Coordinate schedule for "dads" to come spend a day at school. Coordinate support for events such as the Winter Carnival.
-Watch DOGS Watch D.O.G.S.-Dads of Great Students - (On campus, throughout the year, time flexible) A volunteer program asking for 1 small thing. 1 full day. Watch DOGS spend 1 full day at the school volunteering, high-fiving, and being a positive role model for students. Find out more at Watch DOGS

-Reflections (Off campus prep & promotion. On campus hosting student work group prepare for contest submission)
-Variety Show Chair (On/off campus, April event)-run our school variety show in April at Deer Park Middle School. You would be in charge of hosting auditions: prep & promotion. On campus audition, rehearsals, and running the show day of including lighting, sound, etc.

-EOY 5th Grade Event (Off campus prep. On campus/pool event day.)
-New Committee Forming!!! for Hospitality (On campus, throughout the year, times flexible) - we are looking to create a new committee that focuses on all things hospitality! This could include teacher appreciation, tears and cheers breakfast, stocking staff bathrooms, etc.

*Standing Committees composition has been reviewed by a special committee to consolidate roles and tasks and is in the process of being approved by the PSE PTA local membership. Upon approval, it will be submitted to Texas PTA governing agency for final approval.
