Level 1 Courses

4410 - Culinary Nutrition- The purpose of this course is to develop lifelong, healthy individuals with an understanding of healthy and nutritious preparation techniques utilizing various resources and skills. Emphasis is placed on implementing healthy nutritional choices, preparing nutrient-dense seasonal foods, sports nutrition, exploring careers related to culinary nutrition, and practicing wise consumer. (5 wellness credits) This course is offered at the following schools: FRHS, PHS, RMHS

4041 - Teen Choices- In this course, you will learn how to make healthy decisions throughout your teen years. You will learn skills and practices required by individuals to develop, manage and strengthen: social, psychological, and physical wellness, interpersonal relationships, safe sexual decision making, anti-substance use practices, and understanding teens and the law. (5 wellness credits) This course is offered at the following schools: FCHS, FRHS, PHS, RMHS

4210 - Life Management - Students will develop decision-making skills to become educated consumers with an understanding and academic knowledge of consumer resources and financial organizations. The course focuses on personal and family resources, job and career, personal and family finances, and wellness. (Relevant topics include: independent living, healthy lifestyles, career research and job portfolios, personal financial literacy, investments, credit, insurance, leasing vs. purchasing of autos and homes.) (5 financial literacy credits) This course is offered at the following schools: FCHS, FRHS, PHS, RMHS

Level 2 Courses

4340 - Interior Design 1: Residential Design - The purpose of this course is to expose students to various aspects of the interior design industry and is based on the industry’s professional standards (Council of Interior Design Accreditation-CIDA). The course focuses on residential design. Students integrate knowledge, skills and practices to evaluate potential career opportunities. Areas of focus include: Introduction to Residential Design; Design Drawings; Professional Practices/Education; Design Elements and Principles; and the Design Process. (5 fine art credits) This course is offered at the following schools: FCHS, FRHS, PHS, RMHS.

4390 - Fashion Design and Merchandising 1 - The purpose of this course is to expose students to various aspects of the merchandising industry. Students integrate knowledge, skills, and practices to evaluate potential career opportunities. Emphasis is placed on an introduction to fashion, fashion and textile selection, product construction and fashion merchandising. (5 fine art credits) This course is offered at the following schools: FCHS, FRHS, PHS, RMHS.

Level 3 Courses

✴️ 4341CEFRCC - Interior Design 2: Commercial Design - (Prerequisite- Interior Design I "C or better recommended")

The purpose of this course is to expose students to various aspects of the interior design industry and is based on the industry’s professional standards (Council of Interior Design Accreditation-CIDA). Students integrate knowledge, skills and practices to evaluate potential career opportunities. Areas of focus include: Introduction to Commercial Design; Design Drawings; Professional Practices/Education; Design Elements and Principles; and the Design Process. (5 fine art credits) This course is offered at the following schools: FCHS, FRHS, PHS, RMHS.
Students can receive FRCC credit for the following courses: IND 105 (3 credits)

✴️ 4391 - Fashion Design and Merchandising 2 - (Prerequisite- Fashion Design I "C or better recommended")

This course is for students who wish to increase their knowledge and further their skills in the fashion design and construction. Topics include fashion designers, careers, clothing selection, fibers and fabrics, and fashion illustration. Projects are planned and completed in relation to the student’s individual interest and skill level. (5 fine art credits) This course is offered at the following schools: FCHS, FRHS, PHS, RMHS.

Level 4 Courses

✴️ 1391 - Work-Based Learning: Interior/Fashion Design - The Work-based Learning (WBL) experience allows for the application of the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities that are delivered through the coursework of the Program of Study (POS). Students build on prior knowledge and skills in the program of study to further develop and apply employability and technical skills that prepare them for success in future career and post secondary education. (Variable elective credits) This course is offered at the following schools: FCHS, FRHS, PHS, RMHS
