Student Support

Abstract:

We will share remote learning outcome data for marginalized groups, including students of color, special education, and Steps to Success as well as our recommendations for improving student experience in '20-'21. It is critical that we as BHS educators stay informed about disproportionate outcomes in our individual and collaborative spheres and work actively to reverse them. Looking forward to dialoguing together during this session!

Abstract:

We will share our suggestions of how club advisors, affinity group leaders, and directors of small programs can best support their communities remotely. Specifically, we will provide ideas of how to:

  1. Recruit new members

  2. Maintain current membership through increased engagement

  3. Deal with an expanding role due to students’ emotional and academic challenges
