Abstract:
In this session, you will learn how to use Padlet (and other tools) to organize and facilitate Project-Based Learning. Also: broader discussion of technology needs (hardware, software, support) for virtual teaching and learning.
Abstract:
We’ll introduce sources and learning modules to support curriculum in all disciplines. Content may be imported and/or modified for Canvas or students would create personal accounts (approved by the district) to access lessons monitored by the teacher. Librarians will work with individuals or groups of teachers to create content relevant to you, in follow up meetings.
Abstract:
We will demonstrate and brainstorm some techniques to use to teach collaborative group work remotely. The focus is on small-group problem solving, generally what you'd imagine students doing around a whiteboard with instructions via a projected slide or handout in-class. Our workshop will be driven by PearDeck interactive google slides and participants will use Padlet and Explain Everything tools.
Abstract:
Learn to use some of the advanced features of Canvas to develop an effective remote learning platform. Teachers will build content and structures that can be imported into future courses.
Abstract:
The goal of the BEF Grading and Assessment team is to help teachers translate their individual and group assessments from a traditional paper and pencil, face-to-face classroom into a remote or hybrid digital space. Our final product is a table/menu that offers teachers tools and strategies to enable them to survive next year, evaluate the philosophy behind their practices, and/or completely redesign their course.
Abstract:
Remote learning offers an opportunity to think differently about our purpose and elevates the importance of students doing work that is meaningful beyond the classroom and taps their passion. We’ll review examples of project-based work and stimulate discussion about considerations for how to shift curricular outcomes from classroom to community. Participants will begin to conceptualize and design projects.
Abstract:
We will share our research findings and resources on synchronous and asynchronous learning methods as well as creative ways for students to demonstrate their learning. The team will also explore how to use technology tools to support advanced and challenged learners as a reference for providing differentiated online instruction in the fall.
Abstract:
We will share our research of best practices to teach students and families more about executive functioning and practical strategies for implementing within a remote environment. The second half of our session will be an opportunity for an exchange of ideas between all participants.
