EMP or Explicit Mathematics Program is a K-3 explict instruction math program newly developed in Australia. They will be adding a grade 4 level at the beginning of their school year in January 2027. 

In Praire Rose, we had approximately twelve K-3 classrooms who began a pilot of EMP resources and lesson structures in February to June 2026.  

Anecdotal and observational evidence suggests great student growth after only a few weeks of implementation.  We will be using data from a May use of the Alberta Literacy/Numeracy screeners to collect specific data.
