ABOUT US

ProTech Farm and Nursery is a family owned and operated, full service Retail Garden Center, Wholesale Nursery, and Landscape company located at 2360 Spotswood Trl Barboursville, VA 22923. Our company currently employees approximately twenty - five to thirty full - time team members as well as many additional seasonal or part - time team members throughout the various seasons. 

At ProTech Farm and Nursery, we believe in chasing your dreams! Our original founder Alec Butterworth attended Virginia Polytechnic University and graduated in 2013 with a degree in Landscape and Turfgrass Management. After years of working in the industry for another company he decided to venture off on his own and begin ProTech Lawn and Landscape in 2015, which quickly grew from a one man, one truck, and one mower operation to employing over twenty team members. As the landscape division quickly continued to grow in 2019, Alec decided to partner with his wife Samantha to purchase our current location in Barboursville and open a Garden Center for the public and landscapers nearby! ProTech Farm and Nursery originally opened in May of 2021 and strives to provide our community members with all of their gardening needs! 

Our team has ventured into not only supplying customers and landscapers with plants, but growing them as well! While we are adding new plants to our growing schedule each season, we do currently actively grow perennials, annuals, houseplants, and own our very own Christmas Tree Farm in Floyd County, VA! 

Quality drives everything we do at ProTech Farm and Nursery. Our team constantly focuses on growing the healthiest plants around and strives to purchase plants from only the best of the best for our clientele! While we do carry the standard everyday well known plants, we do try to spice things up by having new and exciting options to select from as well, or if you're a customer who is in need of a plant that we do not have; then we will set a team member on a mission to do everything in our power to assist you with finding the plant(s)! 

We absolutely love our community and our mission is to connect people with the perfect plants for their gardens. Each and every day we pour our hearts into ensuring all services whether its at the Garden Center, our growing area, or landscape services are done to the greatest satisfaction possible! From being constant hands - on gardeners do we continue to learn and grow our knowledge, but we enjoy continuing to learn each day working directly with our customers to find the solutions needed for their gardens. Our team is grateful for the opportunity to share our knowledge with the community, but to also have the community continue to share their knowledge with us!
