After years of drought, Leland Snowplay invested nearly a million dollars into a state-of-the-art snow-making system. As long as the night temperatures are cold enough, we are able to augment Mother Nature with tons of fresh snow nightly. This also helps us in opening for the season sooner, staying open longer, and having plenty of perfectly groomed snow for tubing and sledding. The added benefit is that we are able to use water we already own from our Reservoir, turn that water into snow, and then allow that snow to melt back into the watershed, which makes our operation approved by local environmental groups.
