The Performance Driven Instruction (PDI) Protocol is an experiential approach to learning that focuses not on the ambiguity of theoretical learning, but through the internalization of key fundamental skills that integrate multi-sensory experiential learning, reflection, evaluation, and performance to demonstrate understanding.

The question you may ask is:

"How do we get our students to this achieve this level of understanding?

The four stages of the Performance Driven Instruction are:

Analyze: to demonstrate proficiency of the fundamental skills needed to work with others

Harmonize: to work with others to produce outcome not possible as an individual

Improvise: to create new versions of a topic by combining individual fundamental skills and collaborative output to build new knowledge

Socialize: to share new knowledge which will become the future fundamental skills for the next generation of learners
