Brayford station is located on the completely fictitious Southern Extension to the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway, linking Bratton Fleming to South Molton. Originally built to extract stone from the various quarries in the area it also conveys passengers from the GWR connection at North Molton to the picturesque seaside resort of Lynmouth.
The layout models sleepy rural Brayford station, half way between North Molton and Bratton Fleming and the layout also cunningly includes a couple of shunting puzzles for additional entertainment when the module is operated on its own at home.
