After the loading screen disappears, you'll be greeted with the main screen. The layout is pictured above. Many things show up here such as your profile and your stats; credit and token amounts; Ongoing R&D, EDD, and Championships, and more. You'll use the Play Menu most of all. Research and Developments, Enduro Double Downs, and Championships will appear normally on the left side of the screen, above the exclusive deals tab. Above them, the Special Offers will appear, usually depicting car packs or special deals for the major events. Time-Limited Events, or TLEs, will appear in the bottom-middle of the screen and will scroll through any events that are occurring at the moment (if you have no internet connection, this box will say "NO INTERNET CONNECTION. Please turn your internet on"). The Exclusive Deals box, to the left of the Time-Limited Events box, will always show Exclusive Deals, special time-limited boxes, special sales on credits and tokens, car packs or decal packages, and more (if you have no internet connection, the tab "Collections" will show up). The biggest "white area" will show any major event going on right now, or the last car you raced with (if you have no internet connection, your last car you drove will always show up). On the right side of the screen, below the Settings and Gameloft Central buttons, you can watch up to eight (I believe) free ads and get free rewards from them. You can watch eight more ads after 12 or so hours (I believe).
Here is what shows up when you tap on "Play".
Doing a "Quick Solo Race" is a great way to get you ready for the race ahead. Let's say you don't have much experience in Sector 8. Just go through the menus, and select the game mode, then the location, then your class. Select Next and pick your car, click Next, then click Next (if you aren't choosing to use any boosters), and there you go. Quick Solo races are usually two laps, but depending on the track, it could be one (like Tokyo). Quick Solo races don't reward credits, or medals.
This game mode is where you race AIs in the same car, where you learn how it drives. You can earn credits and special rewards for completing the challenges. Read more by clicking here.
Got other Asphalt 8 players in the same household as you? Challenge them to a race! This will require internet to use this mode. Any car in the class selected by the user who started the group will be usable. If you don't have a car from that class, you'll be given the car that is the lowest ranked car in the class. Let's say you have a MAX/PRO Trion Nemesis and your partner just started playing Asphalt 8. They'll get the Aston Martin Vulcan for free. Which is nice, but it is usually the highest-end car, which can sometimes spell disaster for the lower-end cars of the class. This game mode does not reward and credits or medals either.
If you're connected to Facebook and/or Game Center (on Apple devices) or Play Store (on Android devices), you can see what your friends are doing! If they buy a new car, it'll show up! If they have a new ghost on a race, it'll show up. It's a great way to see how your friends are doing in Asphalt 8!
ReplayKit is a screen recorder that records every moment your car moves. It's especially great because it is a way that all Asphalt 8 YouTubers can save their hilarious moments of death-defying stunts and historical fails in order to gain popularity. YouTube has also just released an update allowing support for ReplayKit, so you can broadcast live to YouTube without needing to record a massive video file and take up all your space on your device. You can select from Auto-Record, which will start recording the moment the race starts; Manual Record, which lets you control when recording starts and ends; and Broadcast, which lets your broadcast to any live streaming apps that support ReplayKit.
