Enduro Double Down, or EDD for short, is a major event that you can win a car using other cars that you own or don't own in order to win a very good car. The car is held back from ownership, but you can get it by obtaining Enduro Points, rewarded after completing a challenge. The points will gradually increase as you get farther into the challenges. At challenge 36 (which is as far as I could make it on the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition EDD), I believe I earned around 1,100 points at the end of the race.
EDDs consist of a multitude of races, that require one of the eight (or so) cars to race. Here's the cool thing. The cars are all rewarded for FREE for you to upgrade and race with, but only in the EDD. Now, don't cry. If you don't win the EDD, the upgrades you've made to ANY car in the EDD will be retained. Many races will require either 60,000 or 75,000 Enduro Points to get the vehicle, which is a very high number. Every challenge gives you a choice of TWO (2) races that you can race in to win and move ahead. Challenges are easier than others, so the easiest challenges are below, and to the left, and the hardest is on the right.
Easiest < Harder (This is completely opinionated.)
Finish Race < Perfect Nitro < Drift Distance < Finish Position (3, 2, or 1) < Flat Spins = Flat Spins in One Jump < Air Time < Barrel Rolls < Knockdowns < KNOCK DOWN THE MOST CARS (Knockdown race) < Beat a Race time of ##:##:### < Perfect Runs < Knockdowns without Wreck < No Wrecks < Beat the Ace Racer!
Each of these challenges are used in a certain mode, like KNOCK DOWN THE MOST CARS is only used in Knockdown mode, while some others can be used in other race modes.
Every time you complete a challenge, it gets harder for you to win, as the recommended rank increases. Not to mention that you need to constantly upgrade your vehicles, and the difficulty will shift TWICE during the event, once around 7,000 (+/-2,000) Enduro Points, and a second time around 19,000 (+/-3,000) Enduro Points. The first shift will move the difficulty one Ace Race up, meaning the user will at the beginning of a streak face races with the same difficulty as initially after the first Ace Race, and the first Ace Race will be replaced by the race that used to be the second Ace Race (the track, the recommended car rank, and the AI Racer). The second shift will move the difficulty TWO Ace Races up, meaning the race, which was initially challenge 14 (Ace) will be already presented as race 3 (Ace).
Upon completing a challenge, your Enduro Points are put int a temporary bank, until you beat the Ace Racer. If you do so, you will be asked to choose from three options.
Save Now: Saves all your current points and banks them.
Get Double: Risk your points to earn twice as many in the next tier. Your points accumulated from the previous tier will NOT be banked.
Double Down: Save AND Double your rewards for the next tier! It is basically both the Save Now and Get Double choices and combines them! This option will cost a certain number of tokens to select (usually 100).
Now, there are some rules and recommendations that you will NEED to consider while competing in an EDD.

So what happens if you fail a challenge? Well, you've got three choices. You can go back to Challenge 1, and lose all your unsaved Enduro Points, and use another invitation (you get three maximum and they replenish after you use all three of them every 8 hours. You can also choose to retry the mission, or auto-pass the test. Auto-passing the challenge is the most expensive. If you choose to retry, you'll go back to the home screen, where it will ask you again if you want to start over or retry the challenge and keep your Enduro Points. Honestly, I do like the "Are you sure?", but it is kind of annoying when you have to restart, but it asks you again. Like you want to restart, so why not just restart? But I like the fact of the second chance. It's nice.
You don't just get the EDD Car by racking up Enduro Points, you can even get other cars and other rewards. The more points, the better the rewards! You can even win cars that are being used in the EDD for FREE. Yes, FREE!!! Just by obtaining a certain amount of Enduro Points. If you already have the car, a credit bonus will be granted.
When racing the AI racer, it is important to know that it sometimes screws up. I've actually tied the AI once in an EDD AI race, despite me wrecking once and nearly wrecking twice. It was in Area 51, and the sharp right turn is where he screwed up on, and took it too wide. I "quick-drifted" on the low side, and ended up tying the AI. It was truly an unbelievable comeback. I also couldn't believe that I tied the AI. I was pretty lucky that the AI had taken some hits so he could give me a run for my money. But, you should ALWAYS start with a nitro starter and also the tuning kit, so you have a slight edge in the race. The AI racer can also give you routes that are shorter, but don't always trust it. Keep an eye on the map that can be vaguely seen on the top left side of your screen, right below the pause button. To physically prepare for the races, I like to sit comfortably, without any restriction of movement (Which means no laying on the couch you lazy bums!) and take a few deep breaths. Try to avoid movement when the views of the course you are on starts showing its scenic views. This can possibly cause the steering to go out of calibration. I have other tips and tricks about racing an AI racer coming soon.
