It's been a really... long... wait. MUCH longer than I originally anticipated.
I promised as soon as I would hit 100 subscribers, I would release a record-shattering one-hour long fails, stunts, and tricks compilation. I've teased it like crazy being the "biggest compilation the whole Asphalt 8 community has ever seen".
I finally got my 100th subscriber on August 6, 2018, and the lucky person was I believe Phil Rezano (I think that was his name), and I was chatting with him while playing Forza Horizon 3 online freeroam. I told him that I was a YouTuber and I'm close to 100 subscribers, and only needed one more. Since I use either A8ficionado (add me on Xbox) or Asphalt8ficionado as my gamer tag when I play games, it keeps everything seamless. Keep in mind, this kid was only about 10, and I was 18, so I was careful what I was saying and made sure to explain to him how to get to my channel like a 10-year old would do the same. I popped up a live subscriber count, and seen that it had a number of 97. I peeked at my YouTube channel and saw 99, so I refreshed the both. The live subscriber count then fixed itself and showed 99. He told me as soon as he found my channel, and I heard a "ding", and saw the 99 scroll up to a 100. I was pretty excited to see that, and I caught it while screen recording.
Now came the hard part of starting to make this GIGANTIC compilation.
Months went by as no sign of the 100 Subscriber Compilation was being made. I changed up how the compilation was laid out quite a few times, but I never gave an exact point of where I was. I didn't post anything about it on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, or Instagram. Nowhere. In fact, I wasn't even thinking about it at the time. But that was until something hit me.
A friend of mine who follows my channel asked if I was doing any special thing commemorating me getting 100 subscribers. I immediately recognized that I forgot to do it, so I decided to jump on it.
A months' worth of editing and racing to get the best fails and stunts possible turned into the best compilation I've ever produced, beating out my first ever compilation, Built Ford Tough. But there's more of a back story behind this.
November 4, 2017, a tragic event happened. My grandmother had passed away from a long battle from lung cancer and stomach cancer. It was a rough few months afterwards, but then tragedy struck once again. February 28, 2018, my grandfather passed away from a heart attack around four that morning. It struck me to see that both my grandparents had passed away in just that little time.
To commemorate and honor them, I made this compilation for them. They were the best friends I could ever have known. I always dreamed of a life with a nice house, nice car, nice clothes, and maybe a family. Both my grandparents did just that. I have my 2016 Hyundai Tucson I call "Turbo", I have nice clothing, currently undergoing architectural drafting at Hiram G. Andrews, and so much more. I am living my dream life.
And just for that, since my grandparents were help behind the success of my YouTube channel, and watched my videos even though they weren't interested in them, I decided to make this compilation in honor.
