I remember when this car first came out that I was going to get it. I *almost* did. Second time around, the R&D appeared, and I did everything to make sure it showed up in my garage. With a little bit of money, it showed up after a tough Lab.004 Final AI test. I ended up spending the 2100 tokens to skip it, and received the yellow Mazda.
The RX-8 SE is everything a Special Edition car is in Asphalt 8. Largely improved total speed stats with low starting ranks, adding up to a massive rank increase. The RX-8 SE is no different. It's D class brother can only reach a maximum of 219 mph before Elite tuning, whereas the SE treatment increases that number to 291.7 mph, a HUGE increase of 72.7 mph.
The RX-8 SE is better in almost every way compared to it's weaker brother. It loses Elite tuning, which is a great sign if you frequent Multiplayer races and looking for a really good multiplayer car. Not only does it lose Elite tuning, but it does get slightly improved nitro efficiency at 7/13/17, up from 8/13/18. The RX-8 SE starts at a rank of 901, and ends up with a MAX/PRO rank of 1671. This makes it a class B car, and it is placed between the Chevrolet SS and Holden Coupe 60. It does have a 70% rank bias on top speed, which is helpful but it can harm you if you are in the higher ranks of Multiplayer. If you are in the top of Challenger league, you will be fine. This car can get you close or to Pro league. The RX-8 is indeed faster than the BMW M2 SE, Ferrari GTC4Lusso, Holden Coupe 60, and McLaren MP4/8, and even the newcomer BMW i8 Coupe, even though it does have a higher total speed than the RX-8.
For multiplayer, my tune is currently MAX 2525 and PRO 3030, with a rank of 1516. It runs well with competition, where usual pairings are with A-class or S-class cars that aren't as good in multiplayer. Occasionally you will get the cars that are faster such as the Apollo, R8 SE, and SLK 55 AMG SE to name a couple. But generally if you are in the Amateur league, you will be racking up the points (some races you'll jump up to 30 rank points in a single race).
