All staff are required to complete an emergency contacts form when they start at Primary Advantage. Staff are asked to submit a contact name, address and telephone number in the unlikely event of an emergency in school.
Please ensure this form is kept up to date. If you do need to update your personal details, please notify the HR & Admin Officer who will provide a form to complete.
All adults and volunteers working at Primary Advantage over the age of 16 must have a current DBS on file. This is a statutory requirement, failure to comply may result in disciplinary action.
Staff will not be allowed to work unsupervised in any of the federated schools until a satisfactory DBS has been issued.
It is a Health & Safety requirement that staff sign in when visiting schools within the Federation and sign out if they leave the school building during the day and at the end of the day.
All staff at Primary Advantage will be given a fob to access Holy Trinity Primary School. For additional fobs for the other schools within the Federation, this can be requested via the Finance & Admin Managers.
N.B. Staff are still required to sign in when visiting each school.
Parking restrictions are different across the schools within the Federation. It is recommended that Primary Advantage staff members find alternative transport links. All the schools within the Federation are easily accessible by public transport. Primary Advantage also has an oyster card to enable staff members to move freely between the schools when needed. If it is necessary to drive to the schools within the Federation, please liaise directly with the Headteachers of the specific schools or more information about their parking restrictions.
Professional Attire
Although there is no specific dress code, staff are required to dress appropriately for school. Staff should look professional and all staff should be dressed smartly and not in a way that makes others feel uncomfortable. Appropriate dress includes (but is not limited to):
Not wearing clothes that show underwear or excessive flesh
Not wearing clothes that advertise or show inappropriate logos
Professional Relationships
Professional relationships amongst staff, visitors and children are expected at all times. Confidential matters should not be discussed with other members of staff unless you have the authority to do so. Guidance should be sought if members of staff are unsure of matters of confidentiality. Honestly and integrity are expected at all times by all members of staff.
As members of Primary Advantage who work within schools schools we are active role models to the children within these schools. In order to be successful role models the following guidance should be adhered to:
The use of mobile phones and eating is permitted in adult only areas of the school during the school day.
Chewing gum is not permitted on any of the schools premises'.
We should model to the children the respect and care we hope they show the schools resources and buildings.
It is everyone's responsibility to clean up work spaces and communal areas in order for professional duties to be carried out.
Smoking is not permitted on the school sites at any time. Staff wishing to smoke may do so off school premises but not within the immediate environment of the school.
Staff should keep their property in a locker in the staffroom or in a lockable desk/drawer in their office. Personal electrical equipment must be checked by the site manager before being used in school. All staff should take responsibility for their own belongings. Personal property is not the responsibility of the Federation.
Laptop and phones are all registered on the Primary Advantage asset register (please refer to the intellectual property section for more information).
The care of staffroom is shared responsibility, regardless of the amount of time spent in there as individuals. It should be kept tidy and dirty crockery loaded into the dishwasher.
Staff may wish to have a school lunch while at Holy Trinity Primary School, these meals are free if staff sit with the pupil during lunch. When staff are based at other schools they should check with reception for the school lunch protocol.
Budgets are assigned to specific areas within the Federation. The Federation Finance & Business Director is responsible for managing these budgets. Any resources required should be requested to your line managers or the Federation Finance & Business Director who will then order them.
Order form - The member of staff should fill in an order form
Permission - The form should then be handed to either the staff members line manager or the Executive Principal for authorising and selecting the budget from which the goods must be deducted (NB: Order under £500 can be signed off by your line manager, orders over £500 needs to be signed off by the Executive Principal)
Order - This form will then need to be handed to the PA HR & Admin Officer for PA orders or the PA Learning, Development and Partnerships Manager (for PALDPM orders) who will process the order onto the system and place the order.
Checking good - On delivery of the goods the site manager will check the goods against the delivery note and pass the delivery note to the Admin Officer at Reception.
The Admin Officer will notify the person who ordered the goods.
The person who originally ordered the goods should check against their original delivery and sign off the delivery note and hand it back to the Admin Officer
When the invoice arrives for the goods the PA HR & Admin Officer will check it against the order and delivery notes and then make the payment.
Please note, and order form is required to be completed and authorised before purchasing as followed by the guidelines provides in the Hackney Education Services Finance Manual.
All overtime must be cleared in advance by your Line Manager or the Federation Finance & Business Director. Claims for overtime which have not been agreed in advance will not paid.
You must complete an overtime form if you are claiming any additional hours. This must be signed by your Line Manager before being handed to the Federation Finance & Business Director. Forms should be submitted at least 10 days before payday for your next pay-cheque.
Staff should not accept pupils or students as friends or followers on social media/networking sites outside school. Staff members need to consider privacy setting, friendship with parents, ex-pupils and their family members in order to ensure they have the necessary privacy. Staff members should be aware that Facebook accounts require everyone to be at least 13 years old before they can create an account. As a staff member of Primary Advantage professional conduct is required at all times. Staff should consider whether this may be jeopardised via Facebook or other social network sites. Staff members with family connections in schools within the Federation need to carefully consider the risks associated with social network sites and seek advice from their line manager if they are unsure.
