In this unit of study, you will be introduced to music videos as a new form of media. Through analysing two contemporary music videos, Stop Where You Are by Corinne Bailey Rae and Titanium by David Guetta, you will apply their existing knowledge of media language to deconstruct the videos. You will have the opportunity to develop analysis skills and expand their understanding of semiotics, representation, mediation, and construction within a different media form. The micro-analysis of these two videos will uncover how producers use various media language techniques, such as technical codes and intertextuality, to convey meaning and represent social groups and issues, as well as the artist.
