By decree of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, João Gomes Cravinho, and as published in the Portuguese Diary of the Republic, July 7th, 2023 marks the establishment of an honorary consulate of Portugal in the state of Utah, dependent to the Consulate General of Portugal in San Francisco. The decree indicates the appointment of Luis Eduardo Vitorino da Câmara Manoel as the first honorary consul to this state.

This process now requires U.S. State Department confirmation, a process that can take some time.
