Consular services are now much closer to you. According to the Portugal.gov.pt platform, the Virtual Consulate services are now available to provide nine essential services to users living abroad. These are:

• Consular Registration: consular registration; update of the consular registration form; transfer of rank; consular registration certificate;

• Civil Registry: birth registration of minors over the age of 1 year and at least 1 national parent; birth registration of children under 1 year of age and application for the first Citizen Card; death registration;

• Civil Identification: renewal of the Citizen Card for people over 25 years of age;

• Online appointment at a consular post.

To access the platform, users need their Digital Mobile Key or Citizen Card and a card reader.
