Computing

At Portfield, we teach computing through a programme of study by iCompute. Units of work include:

• searching the internet

• email

• algorithms

• programming

• writing digital text

• publishing

• data

• animation

• networks

• applications (apps)

• coding

The programme is written by computing specialists and has clear progression of knowledge and computing techniques as pupils move through the school. Units of work can be found in our 'Computing Curriculum Coverage' document (click yellow box).

Each class has 15 Chromebooks which means that pupils work in pairs during computing lessons.
