Community Outcomes
At Portfield, we believe that it vital that our children feel part of, and give back to, the communities they live in. Understanding the value of community is central to our ethos. We don't just discuss it though, we live it. All of our school projects aim to positively influence either the local, national or international communities that we live in. This positive impact often comes by working collaboratively with charities but can also take place through direct action, for example, cleaning a local beach or raising awareness of healthy eating within the local area.
Here are just some of the ways that we have changed our communities for the better and some of the fantastic organisations that we have worked with:
A community exhibition, raising awareness of the refugee crisis and money for Children on the Edge
Beach Clean at West Witterings beach
Jackson Pollock art exhibition, raising money for Age UK
Creating healthy eating cookery books, raising money for various young carer charities
Sponsored fun run and awareness day for Whizz Kidz
Weekly visits to various care and residential homes around Chichester
