Christmas
Christmas is one of the most iconic holidays ever. It is celebrated on December 25th every year. You can meet up with family, friends, teammates, anyone! You open presets (If you were good throughout the year) and you have fun. Some people celebrate hanukkah. You Decorate trees with lights and ornaments like glass decorations.
People can watch Christmas movies like the Grinch, Home Alone, A Christmas Story, Elf, and many more. Another Christmas thing you can do is decorate your house. you can put up decorations like blow ups, lights, and sometimes blow up people.
Also the 31st is New Years Eve and you can go to times square and watch the ball drop.

December is a month filled with many days and holidays. Below are some dates and Holidays that I have written down. (Not every date/holiday is mentioned here.)
12/1 - World AIDS day is celebrated on December 1st every year. This is a day where people join the act in the fight against AIDS and HIV. Communities have joined forces every year, on Worlds AIDS day, since 1988.
12/3 - International day of persons with disabilities is celebrated on December 3rd every year. This is a day where other people help people with disabilities feel welcome and equal to the other people around them. People have done this since 1992.
12/4 - World wildlife conservation day is celebrated on December 4th every year. This is a day where the people saved the world's unique and diverse creatures. People have donated to help our animals since 2013.
12/5 - Walt Disney’s birthday is celebrated on December 5th. This year is his 100th birthday. My birthday is also celebrated on December 5th.
12/7 - Pearl Harbor remembrance day is celebrated on December 7th every year. This is the day when there was an attack on Pearl Harbor, during World War 2.
12/14 - December 14th is the POBMS Orchestra winter concert. I am a part of this. On this day the Orchestra plays 3 pieces, Holiday bells, Country Jam, and Bright River.
12/19 - December 19th is the day of the winter concert and band concert. On this day POBMS’s chorus sings many songs for the audience and the band play their heart stopping songs.
12/21 - December 21st is known as the winter solstice. This is what we call the first day of winter every year
12/24 - December 24th is Christmas eve. On this day many families get together to celebrate the night and have a fun time.
12/25 - December 25th is Christmas day. On this day people open gifts they got from loved ones and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
12/26- December 26th is the first day of Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa is the celebration of African American culture. Traditions celebrated on this day come from West and Southeast Africa.
12/30- December 30th is New Year's Eve.This is when people from all around the world celebrate a great new year. This leads to great new beginnings and resolution

Christmas is surely one of the few most FAMOUS holidays. Like who wouldn’t want presents! Here’s some cool facts about Christmas. :)
3 billion cards are sent from the U.S each year.
Christmas trees have been sold in the U.S since 1850.
It takes 15 years to grow the average Christmas Tree.
Candy Canes date back to 1670.
Tom Hanks played 6 different roles in the “Polar Express.”
‘Jingle Bells’ was the first song to be played in space.
These were a few cool facts about Christmas.
Now, what are so cool things that people do around the world when it's the holiday season? Well, here are some countries around the world that have some fascinating traditions for Christmas.
Japan:
In Japan, rather than gathering around the table for a turkey dinner, families head out to their local Kentucky Fried Chicken. You might be thinking, why KFC?? This is because the fast food chain has maintained its yuletide (or Christmas,) popularity, causing some people to order their boxes months in advance or stand in two-hour-long lines to get their "finger lickin' good" food.
Iceland:
In Iceland, Not only does Iceland celebrate 13 days before Christmas, children also get presents from 13 different Santa Clauses, or Yule Lads. (here is a link) Each of these lads has his own different qualities and they can all be a bit feisty. But if good children place their shoes on the windowsill, the Yule Lads will leave them little gifts. If they haven't behaved all year, rotten potatoes show up in their Crocs.
