Design-a-Group: The students will be responsible to design at least one group during their psychosocial focused fieldwork. They must include a title, goals of the group, supplies needed, a brief description of the activity, questions for discussion with the group and points for summary.
Group Leader Evaluation: Each student will complete a written evaluation of his/her peer's Design-A-Group during the psychosocial focused fieldwork.
Curriculum Threads: The purpose of this assignment is to link the OTA Program curriculum threads to what the student observes in practice. For each of the six curriculum threads, the student is to write at least one example of how they observed the thread during the fieldwork experience. Curriculum Threads include: Foundation, Occupational Therapy Tenets/ Theory/Process and Language, Clinical Reasoning, Occupational Performance, Therapeutic Use of Self, and Professionalism. The Psychosocial Fieldwork also asks students to reflect on two Frames of Reference observed in practice: the Cognitive Disabilities and Development of Adaptive Skills.
Client Log: The students will maintain a client log of all of the clients that they observe during their week on fieldwork. The log will contain each client's diagnosis (if known), strengths, limitations, interventions used and psychosocial considerations. A minimum of seven clients are expected to be included in the log.
