Sunday Morning Office

Sunday Night Office

The Call to Prayer:  Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who wait on the Lord.

The Greeting:   Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning, is now and ever will be--a world without end.  Amen.

Morning Gospel lesson:  "Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” which, when translated, is Peter."  -John 1: 40-44

Application:  Have you ever told someone about Jesus?  The first thing Andrew did after hearing about Jesus was tell his brother Simon.

Morning Proverb:  "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction." -Proverbs 1: 7

Application:    The Lord is the source of wisdom, only fools ignore the Lord's instruction.

The Lord's Prayer:

Our Father in Heaven,

Let your holiness be revealed.

Let your kingdom come, let your will be done

On earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Erase our debts, as we erase the debts of others.

Keep us from temptation and rescue us from evil

For Kingdom, power, and glory

belong to you forever and ever,

AMEN!

Manhood moment:

Word spread quickly about Jesus. When people genuinely believe in a cause or a person, it’s impossible to keep secret.  Andrew decided to follow Jesus and immediately spread the word to his brother Simon. Later on, Philip found Nathaniel and they followed Jesus. The unstoppable Jesus movement was well underway. Word of mouth is a very simple concept: one man tells another man where to find spiritual help. Are you that one man? Who will you tell about Jesus? Jesus’ kingdom grows by word of mouth.
