The Call to Prayer: Come let us bow down and bend a knee, let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
The Greeting: Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever will be--a world without end. Amen.
Morning Gospel lesson: "The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” -John 1: 35,36
Application: Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He is a sin bearer. Put your faith in Jesus sin-bearing work.
Morning Proverb: "All righteous man who walks in his integrity--How blessed are his sons who come after him." -Prov. 20: 7
Application: Integrity blesses the generations to come. Integrity is not for your sake, but for the sake of others.
The Lord's Prayer:
Our Father in Heaven,
Let your holiness be revealed.
Let your kingdom come, let your will be done
On earth as in heaven.
Give us today, our daily bread.
Erase our debts, as we erase the debts of others.
Keep us from temptation and rescue us from evil
For Kingdom, power, and glory
belong to you forever and ever,
AMEN!
Manhood moment:
Real men put the spotlight on Jesus, not themselves. That’s what John the Baptist did. When he saw Jesus pass by he said, “Look, the Lamb of God.” John was not a fame seeker or an opportunist, he shifted the focus off of himself and onto Jesus. There’s a huge lesson to be learned from John. Do we draw attention to ourselves? Are we self-promoting? Whose agenda gets done? The narcissism of our day tells men to assert themselves as #1 Top G. John encouraged men to put their faith in Jesus, the real Top G.
