Saturday Morning Office

Saturday Night Office

The Call to Prayer:  Let the name of the Lord be blessed, from this time forth and for evermore.  From the rising of the sun to its going down, let the name of the Lord be praised.

The Greeting:   Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning, is now and ever will be--a world without end.  Amen.

Morning Gospel lesson:   "When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?”  “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon." -John 1: 37-39

Application:    Jesus never pushed anyone away, he persistently invites us to spend time with him.

Morning Proverb:  "Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life." -Proverb 4: 23

Application:  The heart of the man is the center of his being.  Heartcheck:  How is it?

The Lord's Prayer:

Our Father in Heaven,

Let your holiness be revealed.

Let your kingdom come, let your will be done

On earth as in heaven.

Give us today, our daily bread.

Erase our debts, as we erase the debts of others.

Keep us from temptation and rescue us from evil

For Kingdom, power, and glory

belong to you forever and ever,

AMEN!

Manhood moment:

Following Jesus begins with the simple invitation “come.” The gospel of Jesus Christ is invitation not manipulation. Jesus’ invitation is not “come or else” it is “come and see.” When you respond to the invite, you embark upon a gut wrenching awe-inspiring adventure. Early followers of Jesus put everything on pause to follow. They didn’t know what to expect, but neither did they want to miss out. You never know where Jesus might take you. One thing for sure, it will be anything but boring.
