The Nutcracker Volunteer Information

The Nutcracker would not go on without our parent volunteers! Each show requires 6-8 parent volunteers backstage to assist with check-in and check-out, monitor dressing rooms and help students get to where they need to be. If you are interested in volunteering backstage during your child’s performance, please fill out this form to express your interest.

There will be two volunteer orientations this year:

1. Optional Volunteer Orientation at The Benedum Center: Thursday, October 24 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

2. Required Virtual Orientation on Google Meet: Tuesday, November 19 from 5-6 p.m.

You will be contacted for scheduling purposes after your dancer’s casting and performance schedule has been posted on the Resource Site. We will align your volunteer schedule with your child's performance schedule.

Volunteers will be required to provide clearances, follow the production and venue guidelines and commit to the performances they are scheduled for. Each volunteer will receive ticket vouchers for performances they volunteered for to use towards a future Nutcracker performance. These ticket vouchers can be redeemed at the Theatre Square Box Office. Families are welcome to use code PBTSCHOOL25 for 20% off single tickets, or contact Tanaz Walendziewicz (twalendziewicz@pittsburghballet.org) for 20% off a season subscription.
