CHIP Testimonials

Employees improved their biometrics, lost weight, and feel better and healthier.

"Through the years I have read a lot of self improvement books and taken quite a few classes in order to improve my health and well being. Without a doubt, one of the best courses with the most far reaching results has been the CHIP program that I took last fall. I will also say it has been one of the hardest, but then again, the results were life changing. I lost 25 pounds, my rosacea has improved, and the brain fog that I attributed to "just getting older" has lifted and I have more energy than I have had in years.  It was pretty challenging at first, but I got used to the new lifestyle and now I feel so healthy and strong. Okay, I still cheat here and there, but now I can really feel it when I'm off track and the benefits of staying the course are so evident. If you're thinking about making a jump and are ready to put in the effort required to make lifestyle changes you will not regret taking the CHIP program. It's interesting, informative and super motivating."

- Hilary Burgess, Former Pitkin County Employee

“CHIP is the most educational and inspirational lifestyle program I have ever taken. It truly is comprehensive and complete - my favorite CHIP session is on ‘Practicing Forgiveness’! In general, I considered myself ‘healthy’ -  I’m active, practice mindfulness, don’t eat junk food, and eat lots of fruit and veggies. I still had a few issues I learned to live with such as my tummy aches. After improving how I eat from my learnings in CHIP, my tummy aches are now completely gone! My total cholesterol dropped 25 points with the dietary changes I made, and I lost 8 pounds. I learned there is a whole world of nutrients out there I was missing out on. I love my new lifestyle, and don’t miss anything about how I used to be before CHIP!”

- Joanna Rybak, Former Pitkin County Employee

“My girlfriend participated in Pitkin County’s CHIP program, and, while I wasn’t a full participant, I feel like the program has changed my life for the better. Being Italian, and the “cook in the relationship” I was brought along kicking and screaming. Cook with no oil or salt? That seemed impossible and just straight up wrong. I ended up taking it as a challenge and the results for me were amazing. I lost 20 lbs, my blood pressure decreased and my lab values improved. I am now wearing the same size jeans as I wore in high school. I love the way I eat now and although you need to plan ahead and spend a little more time in the kitchen, the way I look and feel makes me a believer.
