Image MUST have a CLEAN WHITE, GREY, or CREAM background
Use the website https://picsvg.com/
Pick one of the "ready" options
Download the .svg file
Make sure you change your units to INCHES!
First click "import" on the top right of the workspace
Then upload the .svg file we made in a previous step
Your raised image must be SMALLER THAN 4 inches by 3 inches
Flatten a cube and make the size EXACTLY 4inches by 3 inches
The RED base plate should be .05 INCHES thick
The PINK raised design should be TOUCHING THE FLOOR & overlapping the base plate at a thickness of .1in
Select all your objects and group them to a single object
Select the object you want to export
Click the "export" button on the top right of the screen
Then export as a .stl file
Click windows start button on the bottom left of your screen
Start typing the work "dremel"
The dremel digi lab software should appear
Click and open the software
The first time you open the software the software will ask what printer you will be using
Select the "Dremel 3D45"
There is another message after this that talks about networking, you can cancel out of that window.
You and a partner will both put your files on the same gcode
Make sure to center your objects (does not have to be perfect but should be away from the edges)
Use the following settings. Material = PLA, Profile = Low Quality, Infill = 20%
Make sure to rename the gcode file name to your names
Double check that your print will take 2 hours (give or take 20 minutes)
Email your gcode file to a teacher to put on a flash drive
Use LOTS of glue to make sure the print sticks to the platform!
You will be responsible for teaching students in the Fine Art Academy how to use the 3D printers!
