This week we will learn about Dr. Carter G. Woodson, an African American man that is called the "Father of Black History Month". Students will learn more about him and how Black History Month began! :)
He was a distinguished Black author, editor, publisher, and historian.
Born December 19, 1875 in New Canton, Virginia.
Died April 3, 1950 at the age of 74 years old in Shaw, Washington, D. C.
He attended Harvard University, Berea College, and The University of Chicago.
