Learning Targets/Agenda: (not necessarily in this order)

Students will read/preview books at their table or on Epic.

Students will check out a book.

Students will listen to information and a story about Dr. Carter G. Woodson or a Black History/Black Pride story.

Students will answer questions about the story.

Students will take an Accelerated Reader quiz for the story OR complete an activity on the story.

Brain Breaks (as needed): movement activities 

This week we will learn about Dr. Carter G. Woodson, an African American man that is called the "Father of Black History Month".  Students will learn more about him and how Black History Month began!  :)

He was a distinguished Black author, editor, publisher, and historian.

Born December 19, 1875 in New Canton, Virginia.

Died April 3, 1950 at the age of 74 years old in Shaw, Washington, D. C.

He attended Harvard University, Berea College, and The University of Chicago.
