Studio Art is a basic art comprehensive course outlined by New York State and one of the three choices students have as a required course.
Studio Art students will:
Touch base on Art History from Cave art to Contemporary work
Learn about the Elements of Art and Principles of Design
Explore different media such as pen and ink, colored pencils, charcoal, pencil, clay, oil pastels, tempera paint, watercolor paint, and digital design
Create projects that concern themselves with the elements and principles and explore different media
Learn basic drawing, painting, and clay techniques that will help the students grow as artists

Inspired by a variety of musical compositions and the work of Kandinsky
Watercolor Landscapes
Review of foreground, middle-ground, and background with an emphasis on textures and watercolor techniques
Clay Double Pinch Pot Animals
A review of slab, hand-building, and coil techniques
Colored Pencil Parodies/Color Theory Review
Memory Project Portrait Drawing
Participation in the non-profit organization that pairs our EJD artists with orphans from across the globe to create a kinder world through art connections.
Written Critique
Based on experiences at various field trips to galleries and local art exhibits.
