PFHQ has launched a new FAQ/Support experience in the PF App for users in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Some key features of the new experience will include:
An improved navigation experience which categorizes support topics at a high level, making them easier to navigate
Better highlighting of support topic resolutions within each FAQ which will easily direct users to the correct support team either within the app or on the PF Website
Other enhancements include consolidating the mobile app account menu to easily access the support flow, updating FAQ responses so that they are up-to-date with current PF policies, and more!

A few action items to recap:
1- Christmas trees are not approved to display in the club. If you have a Christmas tree up, it needs to be removed, per PFHQ direction.
2- Holiday-themed window decorations are not permitted (Christmas decals, stickers, snow spray) as they prevent exterior visibility. If these are currently on display in your windows, vestibules, doors, etc, they need to be removed, per PFHQ direction.
3- A "Train the Trainer" webinar, hosted by Teddy Savage at PFHQ, will be available in the coming weeks for our Trainers running the PE@PF program. Keep an eye out for upcoming Club Connect emails that will be sent to your PF Webmail accounts.
4- Assessment tools available in FRM will not replace our current surveys or expectations for internal survey training through the HS Brands platform.
5- Maintenance Management resources in FRM will not replace our current R&M processes through the Fitness EMS platform.
6- Inventory Management resources in FRM will not replace our current inventory process or spreadsheets. Weekly inventory counts on Fridays will continue to be the standard procedure for Baseline gyms.
7- If you receive donation requests or any other form of charitable request, please reach out to your DM. The Marketing team should be involved for approval prior to any adoption in the club.
8- Please note that our expiration dates are meant to drive volume for joins. Disclosure of any future membership offerings is not permitted.

Perksfest Launch
The first national Perksfest campaign launches on Monday, November 27 running through Monday, December 11. Members will receive exclusive discounts from brands like Crocs, Garmin, Rayban, Blue Apron and many more during the campaign and we are excited to announce that Fitbit will be our title partner for Perksfest, prominently featured across channels with a best-of-web PF exclusive offer!
Launching PerksFest couldn’t come at a better time. Research continues to indicate brands who provide above and beyond perks for their members not only drive increased retention but also drive consideration. In fact, 38% of PF prospects indicated that partner discounts would impact their likelihood to join PF! Through the PF Perks program to date, Planet Fitness members have saved more than $4.5M in 2023 and have saved an average of nearly $25 per redemption. Yet, we are only scratching the surface in awareness of our offerings to our members and that was evident in the results from the test we ran in Corporate Clubs at the end of Q3.
During the test, we saw positive increases in all campaign KPIs including perks engagement, perks redemptions AND open/click rates from PerksFest emails compared to the typical Monthly Perks Roundup (MPR).
To ensure a successful national launch, we’ve finalized the following launch plan which include a variety of optional local assets we strongly recommend adding to your plans. Please reach out to your FMD with any questions.

It’s that time of year again to pull out your spookiest costumes! We are very excited to announce that the Annual Baseline Fitness Costume Contest is just around the corner! Every year, it never fails to surprise us what kind of creative costumes your teams come up with and we can’t wait to see what this year’s contest brings!.We’ve had great participation in the past and we hope to keep this same momentum going this year; however, dressing up is not mandatory.

Boys & Girls Club Fall Fundraiser
October has arrived, and so has our annual fall fundraiser supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA)! Through our Judgement Free Generation® initiative, which combats bullying faced by today’s youth by fostering an environment of kindness, encouragement, and empowerment, every dollar donated from October 1-31 will fund programming and academic scholarships aimed to empower youth to lead with kindness and create a more accepting and inclusive world.
As a reminder, our challenge is for each club in the U.S. and Puerto Rico* to raise a minimum of $500 (only $17 per day!) throughout the month, and the two clubs that collect (1) the most individual member donations and (2) the highest dollar amount of donations (as a % of member count) will receive gift cards for all team members!
Here are some valuable resources to set your team members up for success:
TOOLKIT AND SIGNAGE: All participating clubs should have received a toolkit including 500 donation pin-ups, a counter card, and the Operations Guide (also available in English and Spanish here on FRM). Franchisees and clubs are also encouraged to purchase additional signage, such as pop-up banners and surface cling decals, directly through print vendors. Both English and Spanish versions of all items are available through vendors and on FRM.

Notification on WELL Health-Safety
After careful consideration, PFHQ has decided not to renew our WELL Health-Safety Rating in clubs for 2023 due to incremental costs and resources that would likely be required of franchisees as part of the renewal process, and low consumer awareness of the value of the certification in a post COVID-19 environment.
As a result, please remove any WELL Health-Safety signage in your clubs by July 1, 2023. This includes the WELL Health-Safety seals at club entrances. We recommend clubs take signage and seals down during a time when the club is not busy. We remain committed to the health and safety of our team members, and we will continue to prioritize health and wellbeing through our high brand standards.

At Planet Fitness, we remain committed to creating and maintaining a clean and healthy environment for all. While we did not pursue renewal of our WELL Health-Safety Rating in 2023 due to complexities presented in a franchise system, our high standards related to health, safety, and the overall wellbeing of our team members and members have not changed.
"KEYTAG" REBRAND TO "CLUB PASS"
As of May 23, the PF Mobile App QR code screen has been rebranded from “Keytag” to “Club Pass”. This change reflects that users are no longer using a physical keytag barcode to check into the club and are instead using their mobile devices. Operational and training documentation will be updated on a rolling basis over the course of the next few months to reflect this change.

Dollars for Scholars Winner
We are excited to announce that Aubrey Schoeppler is the winner of our Dollars for Scholars this quarter! Aubrey will be receiving $1,500 to put towards school expenses. She is currently going to school at Dakota Country Technical College and majoring in Business Management. She chose Business Management because she enjoys taking on management responsibilities and is aiming to be a manager one day. Aubrey has been with Baseline since January 2022 and is working at the Roseville location as a Team Lead. Thank you, Aubrey, for all you do for Baseline Fitness and good luck with your school endeavors! Congratulations, Aubrey!
REMINDER: AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT
As a reminder, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (or similar country-specific regulations), service animals and personal aides are allowed in all Planet Fitness locations. Service animals are allowed access to all public areas of the club. If it is not obvious that the animal is a service animal, team members may ask: (1) if the service animal is required because of a disability and/or (2) what work or task the service animal has been trained to perform. The handler is responsible for caring for and supervising the service animal, which includes toileting, feeding, grooming, veterinary care, and ensuring the animal is under control. Team members are not allowed to request any documentation for the service animal, require that the service animal demonstrate its task, or inquire about the nature of an individual's disability.
If a member or non-member guest requires assistance, personal aides are allowed to be with the individual in the club. There are no additional fees for having a personal aide in the club. The personal aide must sign in at the front desk electronically or sign the guest register or the PF Black Card® guest sign-in sheet upon each visit.
In general, a personal aide may assist – but may not work out with the individual. However, the personal aide may work out as a PF Black Card® member guest (if the member holds a PF Black Card®), if the aide is a Planet Fitness member in good standing, or as a reasonable accommodation under the ADA if the individual requires it.

Amazon Halo Discontinuation
As a reminder, Amazon announced they were discontinuing the Halo device, effective July 31st. According to Amazon’s announcement, beginning on August 1st, Amazon Halo devices, and the Amazon Halo app, will no longer function.
Members who joined Planet Fitness and redeemed a free Amazon Halo device during the past two promotions will receive an Amazon Gift Card for the device MSRP ($79.99). Members should have received an email from Amazon AND PF reminding them of this.
As we communicated on 4/28/23, given both promotions required a commitment on the PF Black Card®, we believe it is the right thing to do to change all members that joined or upgraded during the promotion, to a no-commitment membership so they can cancel without penalty.
We have now processed rewrites for all members who joined or upgraded to $24.99 during the November and March Halo promotions to remove the commitment and ensure they can cancel without penalty. However, we are still in the process of updating Annual Fee dates, all of which have been initially set to 6/1. While this is not visible to members, it has caused some confusion for our in-club team members, especially as it relates to those members who paid a 5/1 Annual Fee. We are currently updating these Annual Fees to revert them back to the original date for each member and are revalidating all invoices and payment allocation to ensure no disruption to our members.

DRAFT PENDING ENHANCEMENT FOR UPGRADING MEMBERS
ABC recently developed a solution for the monthly and annual fee draft events that will allow upgrading member agreements to be automatically approved instead of getting placed in the Agreement Queue, requiring staff to manually process the upgrade.
More specifically, an ABC process runs every 12 hours to move any ‘rewrite’ stuck in the ‘reject’ queue due to draft pending to the approval queue for system processing once the draft event is completed. The process was deployed to Corporate Clubs in early April as a test, and we are ready to bring the benefit to the full system. You can expect to see the new process working by this Friday, April 28th (in time for the May 1st Annual Fee draft).

We are very EXCITED to announce our Dollars for Scholars Program!! This program is a great opportunity for our team members to have the chance to receive some extra money to put towards school expenses. Each quarter (quarters are determined by academic calendars) we will be giving one DESERVING recipient $1,500 for school expenses! PLANET FITNESS TEAMS UP WITH THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION TO REINFORCE HEALTH BENEFITS OF FITNESS
In honor of Heart Health Month in February, Planet Fitness has teamed up with the American Heart Association (AHA) to offer an online donation option for new members to donate to the AHA throughout February and March. Donations to AHA will help fund future research, public awareness and access to care. Extending this option through March, beyond Heart Health month, enables us to gain further insights on consumers’ affinity for the cause outside of a key promotional time period for the organization.
The donation option is presented to consumers online after they complete the online join journey, alongside and in addition to, the evergreen online option to donate to Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). This activation with the AHA does not change our longstanding partnership with BGCA.
In addition, as previously communicated, we're excited to offer a Healthy Heart Collection of workouts on the PF App - available to members and nonmembers - ranging from cardio, to yoga, to strength and more.
This activation with the AHA further reinforces Planet Fitness' industry leadership, and the important role fitness plays in overall health and wellness.
2022 Fitness Trainer of the Year
Shout out to Luis Pena from Hesperia II, CA on being awarded our 2022 Trainer of the Year!
Luis has had over 6200 members take a class from Jan-Nov averaging over 560+ members trained per month; which is the most in the entire company. Luis also has been a mentor to the other trainers in the high desert. Luis goes above and beyond for his clients. He will make sure to do his research when designing your own program to ensure his members are put on a path to reach their fitness goals in a safe and healthy way. Luis has been a huge reason the Hesperia II club has seen so much growth; in 1 year the club has an EFT of over $115K! Luis and the PE@PF classes are a big selling point and staff and members alike constantly rave about him and members constantly ask staff upon check-in if Luis is available. Way to go, Luis!

Q1 READINESS WEBINAR RECAP

NEW REFER-A-FRIEND EVERGREEN PROMOTION
The Refer-A-Friend promotion is going evergreen! Over the last 18 months, we have seen consistently strong results testing Refer-A-Friend promotional campaigns during non-promotional periods. This past summer, we tested RAF during a promo period to determine if the overlapping promotions would cannibalize joins. However, we observed no negative impacts and in fact experienced a positive lift. Therefore, we are moving to this always-on Refer-A-Friend offer via digital channels to incentivize referring members and continuously drive member joins. We have given RAF a fresh look in the mobile app as well as updated messaging across web, SMS, and email.
With the latest release scheduled to go live on November 22nd [TOMORROW!], the new RAF evergreen program will allow referring members to receive a free month for each new member who joins through the referral, throughout the entire year. Referring members are limited to three free months/year. For the referred new member, they receive a commitment-free $1 down to join promotion.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF AMERICA FALL FUNDRAISER 2022
We are so excited to announce that we will be bringing back the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Fall Fundraiser this October!
From October 1st through October 31st, during National Bullying Prevention Month, Planet Fitness will be supporting our charitable partner, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, through a fundraising campaign taking place in all Planet Fitness locations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Funds raised will support our Judgement Free Generation® initiative, which aims to promote inclusion and end bullying.
More information regarding operations resources, donation pin-ups, counter cards and other signage such as a pop-up banner and surface cling decals (English and Spanish) for clubs will be communicated through the Judgement Free Press newsletters over the next several weeks. We will also be hosting a webinar in September during which we will be talking through the campaign details and answering any questions – please stay tuned for a date and registration link coming soon.

Core Values Coin Awarded
Veronica from our Sioux Falls, SD location was recently awarded a core values coin from her RM, Matt. Here is what Matt wrote about her: "Veronica has been with Baseline for almost 3 years. I see her passion for this job daily. First off, she is one of the most reliable employees I have come across. I can count on one hand the number of times she couldn't make it to work. Having a reliable opener is one of the key positions that a CM needs to be successful. I see her on her hands and knees daily cleaning equipment. Not just with a rag, but with a hand brush scrubbing out the elliptical pedals. That is the type of ownership she takes in her work.
She is also a team player. Her teamwork and leadership has always stuck out anytime we have had a management transition. Not only will Veronica help train the new CM, but she also stays late and comes in early whenever needed. She has filled in on numerous occasions in a very short notice. If there is cleaning that didn't get done from the day before, she will always pitch in to help keep the gym looking as good as possible.
The ownership she takes in her position is not only reflected in her cleaning, but also by the number of members that have come up to me to sing their praises about Veronica. I always hear that she is such a hard worker and they love seeing her in the mornings because she is so open and personable. She always expresses when something is not up to her expectations because she always wants the best for the members. Thank you so much Veronica for really exemplifying the core values of Baseline Fitness. Keep up the great work!"

We are thrilled to announce, that effective Tuesday (2/22/22), Baseline Fitness has acquired a portfolio
of 7 Planet Fitness locations in the Denver, Colorado market from the PF Denver Group. These 7
locations are in densely populated and rapidly growing areas of the Denver metropolitan and provide
additional runway opportunities for further expansion. With the addition of these locations, it also adds
a new state to existing footprint, bringing our total club count to 70 locations in 9 states.
This is an exciting event for our company and continues us on our growth and opportunity path. We
believe the new team members are aligned with our beliefs and company core values and we are

CAREERPLUG HIRING RESOURCES AVAILABLE
CareerPlug provides an easy-to-use system that automates many of the tedious, manual steps of the hiring process. Their software includes built-in evaluation tools so that you can identify, evaluate, and hire the right person.
In partnership with CareerPlug, PFHQ has created a comprehensive resource article on FRM which contains an introduction to CareerPlug, a general access and overview of their offerings, methods on how to best attract applicants, how to manage the hiring process, and bonus content like increasing job visibility and running reports.
PLANET FITNESS' FIRST EVER SUPER BOWL COMMERCIAL
Last Friday, we officially launched our Planet Fitness Super Bowl PR campaign with an exclusive Good Morning America segment with Lindsay Lohan to reveal a sneak peek of our Planet Fitness Super Bowl commercial, ahead of game day.

COVID-19 At-Home Testing
As you may have heard, under new federal guidelines over-the-counter COVID-19 tests will now, as of January 15th, be covered under employer sponsored health insurance policies. Please see the attached flyer for specific information on which tests are covered, how to claim a reimbursement for covered tests, and how to order free tests to be shipped to your home.

UPDATED WATER BOTTLE/GALLON JUG POLICY
As you know, staying hydrated is key to one’s overall health and wellbeing, and the importance of hydration has become mainstream. Since the start of the pandemic, we are seeing more and more people bring their own personal water bottles and jugs as opposed to drinking directly from the water fountains. Large water bottles have become much more popular, which has led us to revisit our existing policy. Effective immediately, water bottles and jugs of all sizes (including a gallon) are allowed if they have a screw-on cap. Press-on caps such as milk jugs/gallon jugs will not be permitted, as these present a spill hazard. It is not required that all water bottles must fit in holders. We are currently updating our documentation and training materials to accurately reflect this update to our water bottle policy. For reference, below are example images of “approved” vs. “unapproved” options:
