Number Talks - A number talk is a discussion between the teacher and students about mental math problems. The discussion does not focus on the answer, rather all the different possible ways to find the answer.

Example: Finding the possible dimensions of a quadrilateral with an area of 24. Students can choose 1 x 24, 2 x 12, 3 x 8, 4 x 6, 6 x 4, 8 x 3, 12 x 2, 24 x 1 as possible solutions and what the shape looks like.
