PHS Graduation Requirements
English (4 Credits)
Must take English I, II, III, with a 4th year English selection
Math (3 Credits)
Must include Algebra and Geometry and be taken 3 consecutive years
Science (3 credits)
Must include one each of biological and physical science and one extra of either biological or physical science and be taken 3 consecutive years
Social Studies (3 credits)
Includes freshman course (1 credit), US History (1 credit), American Government (.5 credit), Jr/Sr Elective (.5 credit)
Physical Education (3.5 credits)

Health (.5 credit)
Consumer Education (.5 credit)
Career and Technical Education, Fine Arts, or World Language Electives (1 credit)
Electives (4 credits)
Total= 22 ½ credits
Please note the additional requirements below:
* Constitution Exams
State of Illinois graduation requirement - pass the Illinois and US Constitution Exams & Service Learning and complete the Service Learning requirement. (Completed in Government class.)
* Computer Literacy
State of Illinois graduation requirement beginning with the Class of 2026. (Participation in a one year course: English, Social Sciences, or any other subject which includes intensive instruction on Computer Literacy.)
* ACT Exam
State of Illinois graduation requirement for all juniors.
* FAFSA
Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or submitting the parent-signed FAFSA waiver is a state of Illinois graduation requirement.
