National Honor Society

What is National Honor Society?

National Honor Society is is one of the oldest, largest, and most widely recognized co-curricular student organizations in American high schools. The purpose the NHS is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.  Membership is based on the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities.

Who Should/Can Join?

Sophomore and Junior students with a cumulative 3.75 GPA will receive an invitation if they are eligible to apply for membership.

How to Join?

National Honor Society is by invitation only.  If a student has earned a cumulative 3.75 GPA at the end of their sophomore and/or junior years, they will receive an invitation to apply for membership to NHS.  Invitations are sent at the beginning of the academic year.  Applications are available to those who meet the requirements.  Applications are reviewed and acceptance is based on LEADERSHIP positions held, SERVICE completed outside of school hours, and CHARACTER recommendations.
