These are the recipes that we make in the Foods Labs. Feel free to make them at home!
Ingredients:
1/2 c. + 2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 + 1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/4 + 1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 of a 1/8 tsp. baking powder (1/16)
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. ginger
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. + 2 Tbsp. applesauce
2 Tbsp. water
2 Tbsp. oil
1 egg
Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Measure flour and place in the large handled glass measuring bowl.
3. Measure sugar and add to flour.
4. Measure baking soda and add to flour.
5. Measure salt and add to flour.
6. Measure baking powder and add to flour.
7. Measure cloves and add to flour.
8. Measure ginger and add to flour.
9. Measure nutmeg and add to flour.
10. Measure cinnamon and add to flour.
11. Stir all the dry ingredients together well, using a large wooden or plastic spoon.
12. Measure applesauce and add to the flour mixture.
13. Measure water and add to flour mixture.
14. Measure oil and add to flour mixture.
15. Crack open the egg into a custard cup. Check for shell and add to flour mixture.
16. Using the electric mixer, on the lowest speed, blend all the ingredients together well, For about 1 minute. Turn off mixer!
17. Using a rubber spatula, scrape the sides of the mixing bowl and then continue to beat the mixture with the electric mixer for approximately 3 more minutes on medium speed.
18. Using cooking spray, lightly spray 6 cups of a muffin pan or use 6 cupcake paper liners.
19. Fill the cupcake papers 3/4 full, being careful not to get batter all over pan.
20. Place in pre-heated oven and set timer for 20 minutes. The cupcakes are done when golden brown and when a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. Cool on cooling rack.
Ingredients:
1/2 Tbsp of Milk
1/4 Tbsp of Vanilla
1/2 cup of powdered sugar (1 extra Tbsp may be necessary)
2 Tbsp of butter or margarine, softened.
Preparation:
1. Place butter in large silver bowl. Mix butter with electric hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
2. Stir in milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Mix all the ingredients using the electric hand mixer until smooth and creamy. Ingredients must be mixed thoroughly, specs of butter or any other ingredients indicates the ingredients are not mixed thoroughly.
Ingredients:
1 c. 100% apple juice
1 container 6-8 oz. strawberry non-fat yogurt
½ banana
2 c. frozen strawberries
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation:
1. Blend together strawberries, apple juice, and vanilla extract.
2. Add yogurt and banana. Blend until smooth and thick.
3. Pour into cups and serve immediately. Unused portions may be frozen.
Ingredients:
1 pkg. (8 oz) refrigerated biscuits
½ c sugar
1 t cinnamon
½ cup butter
¼ c brown sugar
Preparation:
Grease the inside of a pie plate
Grease the outside and bottom of a custard cup
Place the custard inside the pie plate
Open the package of biscuits and remove all biscuits
Cut each biscuit into fourths
Stir together white sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and toss in biscuit pieces
Combine the butter and brown sugar in a small saucepan and whisk together until melted.
Pour this butter mixture over the biscuits in the glass pie plate, trying to get it into the cracks so it will soak into all the pieces.
Heat in microwave for 4 minutes. ENJOY!!
Ingredients:
½ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup sour cream
¼ teaspoon chives
¼ teaspoon parsley
¼ teaspoon dill weed
⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
⅛ teaspoon onion powder
1/16 teaspoon salt
1/16 teaspoon ground black pepper
Preparation:
In a large bowl, whisk together all of the ingredients.
Place the dip into a plastic container.
Place the container in the refrigerator overnight.
Seasoning Ingredients:
1 t. cumin
1 t. oregano
½ t. paprika
¼ t. chili powder
¼ c water
Taco Ingredients:
¼ lb ground beef
Hard shells (1 per person)
½ c shredded cheddar cheese
½ c shredded lettuce
½ c salsa (optional)
½ c sour cream (optional)
Preparation:
1. Heat up frying pan. Remove ground beef from bag and place in frying pan.
2. Chop ground beef into small pieces turning it over and over until browned.
3. Measure taco seasoning ingredients into a custard cup. Mix to combine. Measure water in a liquid measuring cup.
4. Measure cheddar cheese and put in a large custard cup.
5. Chop lettuce and place in a large custard cup to serve.
6. Measure sour cream and salsa if group members desire.
7. When ground beef is browned remove from pan, place meat in colander to drain fat.
8. Turn burner to low and add meat back to pan.
9. Add water and taco seasoning. Mix until liquid thickens and is coating all of the meat with seasoning.
10. Turn burner off and serve ground beef onto each individual shell.
11. Add desired toppings and enjoy!
Ingredients:
5 whole Roma/Plum tomatoes
1 tablespoon of onion powder
¼ cup of Cilantro, minced
½ large jalapeno pepper, minced & seeded if you want a milder taste
2 tablespoons of lime juice
¼ teaspoon of garlic powder
Pinch of salt
Preparation:
Place all ingredients in a LARGE mixing bowl.
Mix and season with salt.
Place in refrigerator until ready to serve
