Titan volleyball takes on Whiteville High School

The Heide Trask High School volleyball team faced Whiteville High School on October 14th, 2021. Kalice Marshburn (Senior) was named “most improved player” in the Pender Post. This game in particular was special because it was Senior Night.

Senior Night included gifts the underclassmen and coaches bought to help celebrate this special night for the volleyball team. The gym was decorated with balloons and posters for each player, which made the energy in the gym palpable.

The Titans played hard making Whiteville High School work for their win. Varsity ended the night with the score 0-3. Marshburn scored 4 straight points while serving.

After serving four times consecutively Marshburn felt excited “...because I was like, ‘Man, I must be pretty good.’” Marshburn ended the night satisfied with how she played because she has worked hard throughout the season to become the player she is today.

The Titans played hard but did not win against Whiteville High School. Despite this, Senior Night made the game different from any other. “It was really motivating to have so many people be there to see us play. It felt special because it was dedicated to us,” said Marshburn.
