2020 brings positive changes for Gorski

In spring of 2020 as the reality of the coronavirus settled in, many things in Zachary Gorski’s life started to change. During the first week of June, he started a job at Buffalo Wild Wings, and he and his family moved into a new house.

"It was exciting getting into the house because it was a new step in my life,” said Gorski. “I started to get a consistent sleep schedule when I started working and started to make other friends outside of school.”

In his job, Gorski has learned about the precautions being taken in a restaurant in order to maintain the safety of others and himself. Some of the precautions at Buffalo Wild Wings include wearing masks and temperature checks before every shift.

“We try to make the customer feel like they can escape the outside world by being able to interact and be there for them,” said Gorski.

Once the fall semester hit, balancing his new job with school became a priority. He requests shifts at Buffalo Wild Wings that will ensure he has enough time to get his school work done.

Even though 2020 has been a challenging year, Gorski looks at it as a chance to learn and grow.

“The most valuable thing I have learned [this year] is not to take life for granted and that life is beautiful."
