An Editor's Point-of-View

My view of school is different from other students. I watch students and staff and try to find the stories that no one knows. You may see just a regular school with regular students; not much out of the ordinary. But as a student editor walking the halls, I see stories, moments that we want captured.

This year is more difficult than usual. As editors, we have to look and search even more for those special stories. When I walk in the building, I think about what different pictures could be taken of this event or how could I incorporate that moment into our new online news site, The Titantown Post.

Friday August 28th was stressful on everyone, but it's a great time to share what school looks like and who is involved. The students haven’t been at the school since March of last school year and teachers have been planning and preparing as much as they can while learning how to teach in new ways.

When you walk in the building, you get your temperature checked by a staff member, then either get a breakfast or go ahead to class. During lunch you and your classmates are walked to the cafeteria to get what you want for lunch then walked back to the classroom to eat. The classes are the smallest they’ve ever been.

Wearing masks all day and keeping our distance from one another is tough, but that's just because it's new and we will slowly get used to it. The new school schedule [coming to school one week and then staying home for two weeks) is something we all getting used to, but we’re getting through it together.
