Group presentations will take place in class towards the end of term or in a classroom at the College in the end of term assessment period.
There is furher information about any group presentation you may need to complete on the assessment brief on your OLE module pages.
The place, time and date of any live 'in-person' group presentations you are taking part in will be published on your timetable by reading week.
Please use the Group Work Support Materials below as you complete your portfolio and prepare your presentation:
· Group Work Ground Rules
· Template and Example Agenda
· Template and Example Minutes
Your tutor will work through these materials with you early in the term.
Your group presentation mark is made up of two marked elements:
1. submit through Turnitin by 9am on the day of your presentation a portfolio for marking of the group’s meeting agendas and minutes (25 marks); and
2. deliver your group presentation (75 marks).
Both elements are marked and must be completed.
For each group, we will set up a Collborate classroom in which you can meet and practice your presentation.
In this classroom each group member will have full presenter rights. This means that :
each group member can join the room using video and their microphone;
the internet can be accessed from the room; and
the group can upload relevant materials, images and presentation slides.
We hope you find this resource helpful.
If you have any questions about how to use the room or there's a problem, please speak with your tutor and/or laura.mackenzie@escapestudios.ac.uk
Please scroll over the top right hand corner of each document to see the Pop out option.

From there open it in Google Docs or download as a Word file.
You must start your presentation with a slide containing the following information:
o Title
o Module
o Group number
o Names and student numbers of group members presenting on the day
And you must fully cite and reference in the presentation all sources used and applied.
See Presentations in Study Skills for advice on delivering presentations.
You must have a PowerPoint presentation slide to start your presentation with the following information on it:
o Title
o Module
o Group number
o Names and student numbers of group members presenting on the day
You must take part fully and engage in all group work assessments. Lack of participation may result in you receiving a lower mark than other group members or no mark at all.*
Members of the group will be assessed on the group’s portfolio and the presentation on the day and will receive the same grade, subject to the participation requirement above.
If a member of the group is absent on the day, the presentation will still go ahead.
Presentations will stop once the maximum time limit is reached, subject to completion of the sentence being spoken.
Five minute and one minute warnings will be given as the group comes to the end of the presentation.
Please remember group work will present you with a number of challenges you wouldn’t face if working individually. We are aware of these and take these into account in marking your work. We will mark you positively on the day if you as a group have worked together professionally and constructively, even if something goes wrong on the day or has gone wrong or not as well as you would have hoped for along the way.
* If there are circumstances as to why you cannot participate or continue to participate in this group assessment you must speak with your tutor and/or Student Services as soon as possible. You should do this well before the assessment date, unless there is a good reason for not doing that. This is a confidential process through which you will receive appropriate guidance and support.
