Extensions & Extenuating Circumstances

Applying for an extension or extenuating circumstance

If you encounter a problem* which prevents you from submitting  coursework or taking an assessment you may apply for an extension or extenuating circumstances.  

Apply as soon as possible to avoid losing a sitting and having your marks capped at the pass mark

To apply for an extension

1. Extensions should be requested through MYPCL. 

2. Send your completed form together with supporting evidence to studentservices@escapestudios.ac.uk 

3. Extension Requests together with supporting evidence MUST be received by Student Services no later than 24 hours before the submission deadline for the assessment.  Extension requests cannot be granted if received later than 24 hours before the submission deadline.

If your extension request is granted you must submit the assessment by the new date and time.  The maximum extension period is normally seven days.  

To apply for extenuating circumstances

1. Extenuating circumstances should be requested through MYPCL. 

2. Send your completed form together with supporting evidence to studentservices@escapestudios.ac.uk 

3. Applications for extenuating circumstances with supporting evidence MUST be received by Student Services within five working days of the final submission or the date of the assessment.

*Please note that computer problems of themselves do not constitute a reason for extension or an extenuating circumstance. Backing up your work and submitting coursework early is strongly advised.
