About the Artist:

Artist Bio

Kyra Watkins is a public artist who worked on her first mural at the age of fifteen. Black life and the Black experience have been the center of her work since the genesis of her art career. Aside from protesting, organizing, and mobilizing, one of the most revolutionary acts she has been audacious enough to enact is being unapologetically Black.

One of Watkins's most recent murals is on view at Morrison Place as part of the Portland Street Art Alliance's Ladies Up Project.
