MCL

What is MCL?

"The MCL algorithm is short for the Markov Cluster Algorithm, a fast and scalable unsupervised cluster algorithm for graphs (also known as networks) based on simulation of (stochastic) flow in graphs" (MCL homepage).

How is MCL loaded?

The below can be used to view all of the installations of MCL on a particular system, where this example uses Coeus.

$ module avail |& grep -i "mcl"

Biosciences/OrthoMCL/2.0.9/gcc-9.2.0

Utils/mcl/14-137/gcc-9.2.0

How is MCL invoked?

To invoke MCL's primary binary, use the below. For more on using MCL, refer to here.

$ module load Utils/mcl/14-137/gcc-9.2.0

$ mcl
