Program Completion
Instructions for Adding the Mathematics Instructional Leader Specialization to an Oregon License
Upon completion of all the following program requirements, you can apply for the MIL Specialization.
Take 24 credits of required coursework for the PreK-Grade 8 specialization or the 18 credits for the grades Grades 6-12 specialization.
As part of CI 518, 519, and 521 complete the equivalent to a 3 credit/90-hour supervised mathematics teacher leadership practicum and submit your capstone project: the Mathematics Teacher Leader (MTL) e-portfolio.
Complete the appropriate forms below and pay fee.
Program of Study Form (PreK-grade 8, grades 6-12)
Order official transcripts for any program coursework.
Submit materials to TSPC and pay fee.

Please note: In accordance with OAR 584-420-0650, at least fifty percent (50%) of the Mathematics Instructional Leader program coursework must have been completed within five years prior to the date of application for the specialization.
Instructions for the Mathematics Learning and Teaching Certificate of Completion
Certificates of Completion are awarded for the Mathematics Learning and Teaching Program as soon as you have successfully completed the appropriate number of Content-Focused Pedagogy Courses. Grades must be posted. Please complete the form found here to indicate you are ready for the certification.
You can use this program as a "stepping stone" to the Mathematics Instructional Leader Specializations as all courses will apply to your program of study. This certificate does not qualify for licensure.
Instructions for Adding the Elementary Mathematics Endorsement to a Washington License
Upon completion of all the following program requirements, you can apply for the endorsement.
Take 24 credits of required coursework for the PreK-8 specialization.
As part of CI 518, 519, and 521 complete the equivalent to a 3 credit/90-hour supervised mathematics teacher leadership practicum and submit your capstone project: the Mathematics Teacher Leader (MTL) e-portfolio.
Complete the appropriate forms below and pay fee.
Complete section A of the Institutional Verification of Endorsement Form, then submit to COE Licensure
Program of Study (PreK-grade 8) form
Order official transcripts for any program coursework.
Apply to your state licensing agency.
