Deepening Understanding of Mathematics Teaching, Learning, & Leading
Added Mathematics Endorsement
For MIL teachers and leaders interested in both the MIL Specialization and a mathematics endorsement (e.g., adding Foundational Math to an elementary license, adding Advanced Math to a secondary license) there is a consolidated pathway.
Eligibility
There are three eligibility requirements: admission to one of the MIL Programs, an Oregon Teaching License, and passing scores on the appropriate NES test.
Prior to Practicum
Steps before you begin:
Apply to Added Endorsement Program no later than by September 1.
Apply for Field Placement by October 15.
Successfully complete either CI 518 MTL: Implementing Effective and Equitable Mathematics Teaching Practices or CI 521 MTL: Responsive Mathematics Instruction and Assessment.
Post Practicum
After you complete the practicum and both CI 518 and CI 521, apply for the endorsement.
Go to Program Completion for steps for completing the MIL Specialization.
If you have any questions about the courses or TSPC specialization, email Nicole Rigelman, program coordinator, at rigelman@pdx.edu.
