Oregon Center for Career Development (OCCD) provides financial support for individual professional development through the Oregon Statewide Scholarship Program.
The Betty Gray Early Childhood Scholarship is for individuals who work in a licensed child care facility at least 20 hours a week and provides financial support for:
CDA and state approved credentials
Conferences & training cohorts
Degree translation and evaluation
Up to 5 credits of community college tuition related to early childhood education
Hadiyah Miller Scholarship
The Hadiyah Miller Scholarship is funded by Multnomah County’s Preschool for All Initiative. The scholarship is established in memory of Hadiyah Miller to carry forward her dedication to equitable opportunities for all educators, children, and families. This is for individuals that reside or work in Multnomah County in a licensed child care, Baby Promise/Preschool Promise, Tribal Community or ERDC authorized program and provides financial support for:
CDA and state approved credentials
Conferences & training cohorts
Degree translation and evaluation
Up to 5 credits of community college tuition related to early childhood education
The Early Learning Degree Pathway Scholarship is for individuals to obtain an early childhood education (ECE) specific college certificate, AA/AAS, BA/BS or MA/MS from an Oregon Community College or public Oregon University, or evaluate a degree obtained outside of the United States. Scholarship funding is available for:
Individuals who are interested in a career in ECE
Individuals currently working in the field
If currently working in the field funding may be available for positions of direct classroom teaching, mentoring, coaching, supervising, consultation, mental health specialists, quality improvement specialists (QIS) , inclusion specialists, etc.
Scholarships are available on a first come, first served basis. Funds are limited and availability may change. Completed college coursework or evaluation activities from January 1, 2023 onward may be eligible for reimbursement.
In an effort to recognize child care providers across the state of Oregon for their exceptional work, the Oregon Legislature has allocated an annual $500 payment to eligible child care providers in 2024 and 2025. You must apply by October 15, 2024. The requirements are that:
Have a myORO account.
Work for at least 90 days at 10 hours a week in the calendar year.
Currently work in a licensed Oregon child care facility or in a license exempt or recorded program receiving ERDC or as a family, friend, neighbor care receiving ERDC.
