Instructor

Chris Griffith

My name is Chris Griffith and it is a privilege to have the opportunity to teach students of PMHS about the numerous career opportunities that sports medicine has to offer. Being a former athlete has fueled my passion for sports medicine by having an interest on how the body adapts to proper nutrition and exercise. I obtained a bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Fitness and Human Performance. I also have 5 years of active experience as a licensed massage therapist and 3 years experience as a chiropractic assistant. I assist Hayley Wells, who is the Healthcare and Clinical Services teacher, with our student organization HOSA.
Before I began teaching sports medicine, I worked as a youth support specialist where I was able to mentor at risk youth with mental disorders. I have 3 years of experience teaching sports medicine. Sports medicine has been very enjoyable to teach because of being able to share knowledge that I am passionate about with students who are intrigued to know more about the subject. I believe that educating students and providing mentorship is a great way to lead them towards being successful and reaching their full potential.
I believe strongly in career and technical education because it is a way to provide students with hands-on experience that will make preparations towards being workplace ready.
My favorite quote is from Bruce Lee, who stated, “ Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.”
